Executive Director, Redmond
Family Resource Center
Right after the start-up phase, I took over the reins of Redmond's first
human services campus housing multiple agencies in a former strip mall. During
my tenure, I helped establish FRC's ongoing viability by writing its first
business plan, raising $500,000 for a public health dental clinic, overseeing
its first financial audit, and initiating the debt retirement process for the
four founding agencies.
I solidified FRC board operations and began building creative
collaborations among the partner agencies. I also served as the FRC liaison
among other human services agencies and coalitions in the Puget Sound region.
Planning Coordinator, S. Snohomish County Family Support Center
Working as a consultant for Lutheran Social Services in South Snohomish
County, I took 100+ community and agency representatives through the entire
planning process to conceptualize and launch the area's first Family Support
Center.
By inviting key participants to the table, I was able to organize and
conduct an effective series of public meetings. Through these events the
representatives developed a design, selected a site, established program
priorities, and adopted a management structure. Along with facilitation, I
made numerous public presentations and wrote start-up grant
applications.
My final project report -- A Blueprint for a Suburban Family Support
Center -- was used by planning partner, United Way of Snohomish County, to
develop other centers.
