Training/Speaking I’m a national speaker for Vision Training Associates, the training arm of Search Institute. My primary topic is based on my book, Getting To Outcomes with Developmental Assets, aimed at helping programs and community initiatives adopt an effective planning, implementation, and evaluation process to improve their asset-based efforts.I have done one and two-day trainings for national conferences, state health departments, community initiatives, elementary school counselors working on NCLB RTI plans, and youth-serving organizations like the YMCA.

Here is one of my more recent projects.
Creating a Safe and Respectful Enviorment on Our Nation's School Buses
With my colleagues Tim Duffey and Jim Conway from Vision Training Associates, I helped design and write a two-part anti-bullying training module for bus drivers for the U.S. Department of Education. The free modules provided through the department's Safe and Supportive Schools website are aimed at trainers and include curricula, presentation slides, handouts, posters, and palm cards. Module 1 focuses on intervention and de-escalation techniques; module 2 focuses on building a positive school bus climate to try and prevent bullying.
Early reviews indicate that bus drivers are already using the material and especially like the interactive nature of the content as well as quality of the final products. Said Mike Martin, Executive Director of the National Association for Pupil Transportation who collaborated on the material,
"Thank you for doing such a fantastic job on the work product. It seems as if it has real value for the industry. Working with your team has been one of my favorite experiences during my 25+ years."
