Writing
Experience has taught me to take direction, ask the right questions, work independently, shape a project, and get it done right. Skills honed in a broad range of media let me create products - however complex - that are elegant and readable.
Projects I’m working on right now for the Center for Disease Control:
- A series of technical manuals for states on how to plan, implement, evaluate and sustain programs for the primary prevention of sexual and intimate partner violence.- A series of toolkits aimed at helping rape prevention educators train other professionals in sexual violence prevention, as well as engage communities, build youth-supporting efforts, and change policy.
- Revising a program-planning manual for teen pregnancy prevention.
- A toolkit aimed at districts for safety on school buses
Here are a few projects I have finished recently.
Just When I Needed You
How do we help each other to get involved with young people? How do we encourage other adults to remember that change is possible and each of us can make a difference?
We tell them stories. The powerful stories in Just When I Needed You can inspire and instruct each of us in the myriad ways we adults can be present in the lives of children and youth. They are tales of moments in which someone made a real difference.

The number of violent deaths tells only part of the story. Many more survive violence and are left with permanent physical and emotional scars. Violence also erodes communities by reducing productivity, decreasing property values, and disrupting social services.
CDC is committed to stopping violence before it begins.
